Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween! A big thank you to everyone who helped out with our Halloween parties, and made some fantastic treats to share.
Our clever teachers at Kidsplace chose a great theme for the next two weeks! Dental Health & Hygiene! Very fitting for right after Halloween.
As soon as we can, we will provide details about our Mom’s Pantry fundraiser, let you know the grand total raised, the pick up date, and the winners of our fundraising prizes for the first part of the school year. Thank you for your support.

Ah, those weekends do tend to get away on me! But here we are with a slightly late, but very exciting, update from Kidsplace! Because today we get to announce the winners of our fall fundraising incentive prizes! (That huge thank you note above is for all of you for your awesome support of Kidsplace thus far!)
Read on to find out who won, and our theme for this week!
I’m the first to admit it … I’m a sucker for fairy tales. (Who doesn’t love The Princess Bride?) The love of a good story transcends all ages, and our little ones will be getting a taste this week (Nov. 4 – 8) with our “Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes” theme at Kidsplace!
Read on for a bit of an update and a link to a fun fairy tale game to play at home!
It’s Health and Nutrition week (Nov. 5-9) at Kidsplace! Our little ones will be busy learning ways to keep our bodies healthy and strong as well as some of those oh-so-important rules of hygiene.
Did you know a single sneeze can go as far as three feet? (Let’s all say “ewwww” together, now.) So imagine a room full of preschoolers during cold and flu season…you get the idea! We need your help to keep those nasty bugs at bay in our classroom. We depend on parent volunteers to help clean our room and toys, generally every other week. It only takes about an hour, and it qualifies as one of the mini-jobs that are a requirement for each Kidsplace family. Check with your teacher to see how you can help! (And a big thank you in advance!)
Reminders of All Sorts
Peak of the Market arrives this week! If you can help unload the truck between 5 and 6 p.m. on November 6, please contact our fundraising coordinator, Angeline, at email@example.com. Orders MUST be picked up between 6:30 and 8 p.m.
Next up for fundraising…the ever popular Mom’s Pantry! Watch for more details coming soon!

And finally, our first field trip, to the Henderson branch of the Winnipeg Public Library, will take place November 15 (Tues/Thurs a.m. class, approx. 10 a.m.-11 a.m.; p.m. class approx. 2 p.m.-3 p.m. ) and November 16 (Mon/Wed/Fri class, approx. 10 a.m.-11 a.m.). It will include a special story time and some book browsing afterwards. As many of you may already have a library card, you are welcome to take out books, and for those of you who do not have a library card it is a good way to see what the library has to offer. Permission forms for this trip will be sent home soon.
Please note that parents/guardians are required to accompany the children on field trips. If you need to arrange for an alternate adult to accompany your child, please let the teachers know or indicate the name of the person on the permission form.
QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What are some of your preschooler’s favourite books?

The weather has taken a nippy turn, fall must be here for good! It might be gray and drab outside, but check out these bright, leafy masterpieces from the resident artists at Kidsplace! Can your little one pick out the leaf he or she made?
