Have you got yours yet? Pumpkin, that is! We ate them last weekend…now we get to decorate them for Halloween! This trick or treaty time of year will be our Kidsplace theme for the next two weeks (Oct. 21 – Nov 1), finishing off with our annual Halloween Party! For more details about this, school pictures and more, read on… (There’s some VERY interesting news regarding fundraising too, and it has something to do with PRIZES!)
Volunteers Needed!
Did you know you can volunteer at Kidsplace? We’re looking for some willing parents (or grandparents!) to help out in the classroom, especially with our T/TH morning class! It’s lots of fun and a great way to see Kidsplace up close. If interested, just talk to Ms. Lori, Ms. Sherry or Ms. Adeline! And thank you!

School pictures will be taken this week October 21 (M/W/F class) and October 22 (T/TH classes). More information about package options and purchasing will be sent home with your photo proofs.
Get Ready to Party!
Our first school party is fast approaching! The M/W/F class will have their Halloween party October 30, while the T/TH classes will have theirs October 31.
Children are welcome to dress up in their costumes (no scary costumes or toy weapons such as knives, guns, swords, etc. please!) that day. There are sign-up sheets inside the classroom if you would like to bring treats or help out with the party.
Just in Time for the Holidays!
Starting to think about baking all of those holiday goodies? (Yeah, me neither! But soon, soon…) But even if Christmas hasn’t crossed your mind yet, Mom’s Pantry is just the place to get all your supplies, as well as lots of other tasty treats for the season (and any other time of year too!)
Order forms handed out this past week, please let your teacher know if you didn’t receive yours. Orders and money are due Friday, November 1. Please be sure all cheques are made out to Kidsplace Nursery School. Delivery is still to be confirmed, but will be within two to three weeks.
Kidsplace will receive between 20% to 40% profit on this fundraiser, with most items falling in the 40% range! (Sell $10, we get to keep $4!)
Prizes! Prizes! Prizes!
So…when we did so well on our first fundraiser (yay us!), why do we still need to keep that momentum going? The more we raise, the more funds our teachers have to improve the classroom, buy much-needed supplies and even purchase some “wish list” items like dress-up costumes and new baby dolls for our home living area!
So we thought we’d sweeten the pot a little. Here’s the scoop:
Classroom Prizes: The top fundraiser in each of our three classes per semester (Sept-Dec; Jan-May) will receive a gift from Scholastic Canada.
Overall Prize: The top overall fundraiser (all classes combined) in each semester (Sept-Dec; Jan-May) will receive a movie theatre gift card (admission for two).
And Finally…
Our Annual General Meeting takes place November 13, 7:30 p.m. in the library at Calvin Christian School. Please mark your calendars to attend!
